My design journey began unexpectedly, shaped by a twist of fate during my freshman year when a sports injury altered my course. What initially seemed like a setback became the foundation for a fulfilling career marked by intuition, research-driven strategies, and a relentless pursuit of impactful solutions at the intersection of design, business, and technology.
Armed with a degree in graphic design from Sanford-Brown College, I embarked on a freelance path that tested my resilience and determination. Despite initial challenges, I remained undeterred, seeking growth and new perspectives. This quest led me back to academia at Nevada State University, where I immersed myself in both pre-med studies and design work, a juxtaposition that enriched my problem-solving abilities and fueled my passion for innovation.
Transitioning from graphic design to product design at an agency marked a pivotal moment. Here, I discovered the power of merging my scientific curiosity with design principles, unlocking a realm where creativity and functionality seamlessly intertwine.
Amidst the academic rigor and professional growth, a profound decision arose — to pursue a path in medicine or seize an opportunity at a startup in Santa Monica. Opting for the latter was a turning point that reshaped my trajectory, propelling me into collaborations with industry leaders like Mastercard, Carvana, and Intuit. These experiences sharpened my skills and refined my approach to crafting digital experiences that resonate with millions.
Today, as a Senior Designer at Fabric by Gerber Life, I lead transformative projects such as the Term Life Insurance product. This role has not only exceeded growth expectations but also allowed me to contribute significantly to broader insurance initiatives, shaping the future of digital experiences in the industry.
